What is special about this "New Destiny"?

WHAT IS THE DESTINY OF A CHRIST FOLLOWER?

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

~John 3:16 (NIV)

This means that anyone that believes in the Son is destined for eternal life in  Heaven with the Father.

He is the one true God and He died for you and me. He took on our sin and shame at the cross so that we might live eternally!

HOW CAN I KNOW JESUS CHRIST?

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock."

~Matthew 7:24 (NIV)

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

~Matthew 4:4 (NIV)

You can find Jesus, our Savior, in the pages of the Bible.  The Bible is the inerrant inspired word of God that is our instruction manual for life. It teaches us not only how to live our own lives by following his example, but how to treat others and honor God with our life, bodies and resources.

The word of God, in the early church was recorded in scrolls. In modern day, we have the word translated from Hebrew and Greek into our modern languages in the book we call the Holy Bible. It is important to read the word and understand context as well as the history of the words and the originating culture. This helps in understanding the point of view of The Lord, leaders in the time of the writing, the people, the priests, the prophets, the intent, etc. The Strong's Concordance is an excellent reference to help with understanding this fascinating history that is alive and applicable today!

The Bible is separated as the Old Testament and New Testament.

  • The Old Testament contains the account of the creation of the world, the fall of man, the establishment of the law, the sharing of prophecy about the coming Messiah and leads to the redemption of man, which comes alive in the New Testament.
  • The New Testament gives an account of the coming of the promised Messiah, his ministry and miracles on earth, his betrayal, sacrifice by crucifixion, burial, resurrection, our access to salvation (John 3:16-17) the establishment of his Kingdom in Heaven, and the prophecies of the age to come.

HOW DO I BENEFIT FROM THIS NEW DESTINY?

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

~John 3:17

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

~Matthew 5:17

When you get to know Jesus, everything changes. See, before Jesus and after the fall in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3), mankind was living under the "law" alone, which defined morality and godly character.

The Old Testament of the Bible is full of accounts of mankind's failed attempts at holiness and destructive behavior. That is not to say all people in the Old Testament were corrupt, but people in general were. There were procedures to cleanse people from their sin which can be studied in Leviticus in the Old Testament.

The Father God sent messengers and signs to people to get them to change and they just didn't. However, this did not catch God by surprise. He knew man's pride would get in the way and they would become self-righteous and prideful. So, there were many prophecies that spoke of the coming Messiah, Jesus, who would come to save us from our self-destruction. Jesus's conception, birth, ministry, death and resurrection were the fulfilment of those Prophecies. Now, we have the gift of His Holy Spirit to guide and watch over us in this lost and dying world. As His children who have accepted His Son, we are empowered to live lives of victory and freedom over sin and darkness.

The benefit to being His child walking in this New Destiny is that victory and freedom and the opportunity we have to share this Good News with others!

If my testimony or your testimony helps one person walk in victory and secure their eternal position in Heaven, it's worth it to take the time to share!

We have seen the sick healed, people with addictions delivered and even set free from demons! That's the destiny of a believer! You can read about these in what is referred to as "The Gospels": Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament.

NEXT STEPS IN MY NEW DESTINY?

For he says,

“In the time of my favor I heard you,  and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

~2 Corinthians 6:2

If you have taken time to read this page, get familiar with the word of God and feel/hear Him speaking to your heart, you can accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord right now. This very moment! There is no need to delay!

We do not believe there is a specific prayer you need to pray, but that your surrender to Christ and belief in him is what is important. This is a type of conversation (prayer is a conversation with God) that you might have - this is just an example of what you might experience and express. It's personal for each believer that comes to Christ.

"Lord Jesus, I am so grateful for the sacrifice you made on the Cross for my sin. I love you and accept your sacrifice and want to spend my life serving you and sharing this good news with others. I commit my life to you! In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!"

If you prayed that or a similar prayer that positions Christ as your Savior, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF GOD!

The Bible says all of Heaven is rejoicing!

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

~Luke 15:7

FAQs

  • WHY DO I NEED CHRIST AS SAVIOR?                                                          Think of a civil case where a person may have broken a window at his/her neighbor's house or a criminal case where he/she may have intentionally or unintentionally harmed someone's physical body. In both cases, he/she must be tried for the infraction and will be held to account and pay a penalty for his/her actions and any damage that has been caused. In the case of the laws humans break every day, they are too numerous to account for adequately. Jesus paid in full the penalty for my sin and your sin. That is why we need a Savior.                                                                                                                            ~ But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:22-23)
  • WHAT IS SIN?                                                                                                                          Sin is anything we think, say or do that is/are in rebellion to God. It offends Him and invites darkness into our hearts and lives and has a ripple effect. Once very eloquently described by a preschooler as "anything you do that turns your heart black and dark inside". For context of daily living, it could be gossiping about someone, hurting someone physically, stealing, cheating, lying, wishing harm on someone (including yourself), disobeying God and His order of things. This is not an exhaustive list, but should help explain it. Often, the 10 Commandments are used as a measuring stick for sin, but it's more than the "thou shalt nots"; It's a heart condition where God is not esteemed in the position of honor in a person's heart and thereby rejects Him.                                                                                                                    ~   for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God   (Romans 3:23)                                                                                                                                                      ~ When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.  What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!   (Romans 6:20-21)
  • WHAT IS HEAVEN LIKE?                                                                                       Heaven is everything that brings peace and joy. It is a place where your soul sings and there is no pain. It's a place of absolute awe of God and all of His goodness. It is an indescribable and incomprehensible reward!                                                                                                         ~ Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.  I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.  ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”  (Revelation 21:1-4)
  • IS HELL REAL?                                                                                                                 Yes, hell is a place of where souls go when their physical mortal bodies die if they have chosen to be separated from God by way of not choosing to accept Christ's sacrifice for his/her sins. Since true goodness is only found in God, hell could be understood as the absence of God and a constant state of dying.                                                                                                                                                                                                        ~ "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)                                                                             !!! Remember, a person escapes hell by God's grace through their faith in Jesus Christ. When he/she does this, he/she inherits his/her NEW DESTINY into the family of God - free from spot or wrinkle otherwise caused by sin!!!                                                                                           ~ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)                                           ~ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.      (Ephesians 5:25-27)
